From Erie to Michigan

This morning the U.S. Brig Niagara sailed past the house that we’re renting in St. Ignace, Michigan!

We often see the Niagara in its home port of Erie, Pennsylvania.

I learned through the Tall Ships America website that the Niagara and other tall ships are in a series of festivals this summer. They “festivaled” in Bay City, MI a few days ago and their next festival is in Chicago. (They will appear at a festival in Erie in September.) However, today this part of Michigan is under a severe thunderstorm watch until late this afternoon. So, we got lucky enough to see the Niagara on the Upper Peninsula!
