Bike camping was awesome!

Jenny and I got back a little while ago from our first bicycle camping adventure.  We left Friday morning.  Due to some traffic issues at about a tenth of a mile from the trailhead, we didn’t actually get on the trail until a little after noon.  We rode about 18 miles, camped at a “primitive” site for the night, woke up with dawn this morning, and rode back to the car.  It certainly wasn’t one of our longer rides, but with all of the extra stuff on our bikes, combined with the fact that this is the first time this season that we’ve had the bikes out for anything more than an around-the-block adventure, we’re a bit on the worn-out side.  It felt good to get riding again, though.  Hopefully we’ll be able to go out more this summer.  I’d love to be able to convince Jenny to go bicycle camping again on one of those rides, too.  🙂 

This is really just a teaser–I have pictures to fix and post and a trip diary to write, so that will probably be tonight.
