My Wife is AWESOME!

My wife bought a band saw for me a few weeks ago, as I started to work on a new project for the house (read back an entry or two 🙂 ).  She also let me buy a router, some new bar clamps, some hand tools, and a few other gadgets.  She is an awesome wife, and makes me a happy guy.  To show her some of the stuff these fun new tools can do, I built her a desk clock this weekend for her desk at work.  I got to try a few things, really use the new router, and discover that I really need a framing clamp if I plan to do any more thin mitered frame pieces.  I also discovered that the expensive router bits are worth every penny, and the inexpensive bits sometimes need some attention to avoid destroying three hours of work in thirty seconds.  🙂

Oh yeah..  I also learned how to cut glass.  I have seen it done in the past, of course, but have never done it myself.  I wanted to do a glass face in this clock, so I had to learn.  I only really screwed-up one small piece of glass, too, so that was cool.  Woot!
