House and Home

Thank Goodness for Good Friends

E.P. has given me a lot of good advice since I met her only a few short years ago. Today, she gave Jenny and me (I wrote “Jenny and I” here before, but I’m pretty sure that this is one of those cases where “me” is the correct pronoun) some gems on stripping some of our old woodwork. She has a beautiful house and has been working hard on her own restoration. We hope to have a few work-sharing sessions on each other’s houses. She’s much further along than we are, and she’s owned her home for only a short time. Of course, if we didn’t have a wedding to plan after finishing our first room, we may have been able to catch-up. She’s often much more motivated than I am with these things. Whatever the case may be, good friends are awesome–especially when they are good “old-house” friends.

Jonathan does a lot of stuff. If you ask Jenny, maybe he does too much stuff.

Sarah the Grammar Queen says that you are correct in saying “Jenny and me” in this case. Take out “Jenny” and the “me” should still make sense in the sentence.
